The Committees

There are six standing committees that have been established to head up efforts for the 2010 Clinton County Bicentennial.  Here's what they are working on.

The committees and their descriptions are as follows:

Fundraising
Responsible for coordinating fundraising tasks related to the 2010 Wilmington & Clinton County Bicentennial Celebration, including a comprehensive campaign designed to meet a number of funding priorities for the Commission.

Education Committee
Responsible for working with representatives from county school districts, area colleges and communities to design educational programs, activities and resources such as contests and curriculum resources that reflect the rich heritage of Wilmington and Clinton County.

Marketing/Merchandising Committee
All marketing of the Clinton County Bicentennial and developing and governing merchandising guidelines.

Community Vision Committee
Responsible for developing, planning, and orchestrating a community visioning process with various interest or affinity groups in the County to create a vision or visions for the County's next ten, twenty-five, fifty or one hundred years.

History and Legacy Committee

This committee will consist of representation from all the county villages and the three Historical Societies in Clinton County, which are:  the Clinton County Historical Society, the Blanchester Historical Society, and the Sabina Historical Society. It will also include a representative from Wilmington College’s Quaker Heritage Center.  It is this committee’s job to assist those in search of historical facts and act as a resource for information. Many groups and organizations may need guidance in gathering details about Clinton County’s past. With our resources, we can offer materials to those in search of information and allow them to use the materials to do their research.  Each Historical Society will determine its own policy on charging fees for the use of museum contents. It will be up to this committee to decide on any projects they wish to sponsor.

Special Events Committee

Responsible for developing, planning, and orchestrating special events being put on by the Commission, such as “Opening Ceremony,” “Closing Ceremony,” etc. (not to include community events being orchestrated by individual groups).
